-------------- END OF SECOND DRAFT -------------- Saturday 6th June
From Ruth at 13.43
Dear Glenda and Val, Thank you so much for all that work processing our emails. What a document! Over 50,000 words and pictures too! I managed to upload (or is it download?) it and have been reading it for the last hour or two. So addictive!
Perhaps we should send it on to Barnet Museum as an archive of life for girls in the twentieth (and twenty-first) century? How long do you think we shall continue? Until the end? ... Of lockdown or of us?!
From Judy at 17.44
Many thanks for the new draft. What a lot of hard work you and the others have done!
From Judy at 19.39
Many thanks to Glenda, Val, Jen and whomever else helped in editing this large volume of messages. Quite a Herculean task, but well worth it and maybe our children, grandchildren or friends might be interested to read them. To say nothing of other Old Girls.
As lockdown loosens, the whole atmosphere seems more light-hearted round here, in spite of the still very real threat from the virus. There are noticeably more people about, more cars on the roads. Today we went over to visit our twin grandchildren, aged 5, which was a delight. They only live about twenty minutes drive away. Tomorrow we’re going over to Hertford to see our other two grandsons (7 and 5). This is a longer journey and we’re hoping it will be dry for our sojourn in the garden.
