window facing the road! When David managed to gather it up to let it out the way it had come in, its tail seemed to come off in his hand. So, it left without its tail feathers. But it seems to have survived as it was here again the next day. It’s even starting to build another nest – its third brood, we think.
Other domestic wildlife sights here include the frog in my shoe. Can you imagine my amazement? I was just putting on one of my old shoes for a visit to the allotment when this quite big frog poked his head out. The house isn‘t really that damp, honest. We can’t think how it got into the hall and found such a cosy home. We took it back to the allotment in an ice cream box and dropped him in the pond (an old baby bath) which he immediately jumped out of having passed that stage in his life, I imagine.
It’s all go here! Love to all,

I too have been to the hairdressers last week and vanity exists here as well as I came out feeling much better and tidier and considerably younger than the straggly person who went in clutching my facemask before I was sanitised once I got into the salon! (sound really upmarket but it is only one smallish room actually!). However, my temperature wasn't taken.
I have visited a proper supermarket twice since lockdown about a month apart - still a bit of a queue but otherwise I have my online deliveries too with the local greengrocer coming as and when I order on line - they have always done deliveries and do great mixed, salad.,
veg or fruit boxes with a wide selection in each one. I have met a couple of friends for picnics on one of the commons social distancing and it was dry and sunny if somewhat windy last Friday. I am on the list for a socially distanced barbecue too!
I was planning to tell you about a visit to the vets in easing of lockdown times for the social historian in 100 years time. This I did last week as the cat needed her yearly boosters. Beforehand I wondered if I would need a mask, would John the vet and I manage social distancing with the cat in the middle stretched for 2ms! No on enquiry I had to ring them when I arrived in the car park, someone came to collect the cat in her basket and she was to be returned to me after the jabs. All went well except there were quite a few cars coming
in and out of the car park, vets trotting up and down trying to identify their clients and their animals, dogs greeting each other in true friendly doggy fashion and it started to rain. Dog owners were less restrained than cat owners as they got out of their cars and wandered
up and down socially distancing themselves from others and the wandering vets!
However, over the weekend as I am sure many have seen there has been an outbreak in a farm in Herefordshire with over 70 testing positive. They never mention it but the boundary between Worcs and Herefordshire is actually the top of the Malvern Hills and the farm in question is just over the other side of the hills about 8 minutes’ drive from here. 3 have gone AWOL and last time I heard the news have tested positive but still at large. Two of the British youngsters on TV last night had been working there left at the beginning of the month and live in Malvern. So all of a sudden Malvern has become very twitchy and anxious about any infection locally - I suspect people thought we were quite safe in a rural backwater. Let's hope it is contained and contained quickly!
Like Jen I have been thinking of our friends Cary and Mag W - this is truly worldwide! However, I have my masks - found out there is a top and a bottom and of course I had mine on the wrong way up - no wonder it was even more uncomfortable!
