It's nice to be thought about here in Texas - thank you Janet, and Jenny. On top of everything else it's 40 centigrade here and we're under a heat advisory!
My guess about the lull in emails is that we are all beginning to realize what a huge change has taken place due to Covid, and how long- lasting and significant the changes will be. I don't know about anyone else but I am realizing how different my grandchildren's life will probably be to how ours was, in terms of expectations and choices. And I am feeling sad. If I didn't have a faith in God it would be so much worse, but that is where I am at present.
Of course, we will go on, and we will get through this and adapt. I am always grateful for my many blessings, and I pray that you are all safe and continue to be so.
Blessings, Cary

It is still nice to get all the emails with more memories, as well as tales of venturing out into the community!
Thankyou for your kind concern and good wishes as we experience the second Lockdown. As we are in complete agreement, we are happy to comply and we only hope that is has a beneficial outcome.
We Victorians are not very popular with the rest of Australia as the virus has escaped to NSW fromaVictorianman. Asournumbersarerelativelylowandourpopulationissmallcompared to the UK, the public health authorities can trace the virus and can see how it travels. Initially, the security guards looking after returned travellers in quarantine misbehaved, and so the virus got into a family group, who had get togethers with members from a large geographic area, and the rest is history!
It is nice to think of you Jenny having a lovely birthday meal at the West Lodge Hotel, and good to read of Janet’s experience at the vet. ( Oh, to be a dog and not to know what is going on in the world!!) Then Ruth finding a frog in her shoe. We can get them living in the toilet in some country areas as well as a python living in the roof. Don did not tell me anything about this before coming to Australia!
Cary, I know how you feel. It does make you angry when people fail to comply with safety measures. My son feels the same in LA. I keep a close eye on the situation in the USA. The future is completely unknown, your faith is a very precious gift.
I send my best wishes and love to you all,
As Cary says we will get through it and adapt (WE HOPE)

At long last had my hair coloured and cut yesterday - felt a bit odd and hot wearing a mask but I got used to it. A great treat on Saturday was going out for coffee - we are lucky in Bradford on Avon as several cafes have good outside spaces, we are reluctant to eat inside a restaurant yet.
A tip for easy entertaining - we occasionally order delivered Dominos Pizzas (something I thought I’d never do!). On Tuesdays they have a 2 for the price of one offer so we invited a friend who lives on his own round to join us for supper in our garden. With salad and dessert it made a quick and easy meal - pepperoni with double cheese is our favourite.
