altogether! I shall write a paper for the Royal, Imperial Philosophical or something Society! I have introduced my two kittens (I have four cats altogether – sorry about that!) to the glories of technology and their microchips have been memorised by the cat-flap so they can get in and out of the house when they wish. They are ecstatic! Since I live on a busy road I have gone to enormous trouble and expense to surround my small garden with netting and two new gates to keep the cats off the road. They have watched all the innovations with great glee and then found their own way out!
I’ll finish off with the Glasgow Coat of Arms from the main entrance – ‘Let Glasgow Flourish’ Amen to that and to us all,

I hope this isn't a competition, otherwise we can all pack up and go home (ha ha!). Thank you, Glenda, for the most wonderful virtual stroll
through the Botanic Gardens. It puts my one-mile
circular walk round Yapton village in the shade,
tho we do have a picturesque Norman church and lots of colourful magnolias - for which I'm very grateful!
Let's count our blessings.
Lovely to hear from everyone. Sending love and positive thoughts.

Hello dear old school friends! (Can I say that? I mean the ‘old ‘bit – we’re not that ancient yet, are we? Well, not really anyway, now that some people are living to 112.)
Thank you, Glenda, for your beautifully illustrated letter. How clever! And thank you too to Ann, Val, Sandy, Mags and Pat for keeping in touch. Glad so many of us are able to get outside for a time. Nothing to beat a bit of fresh air, after all. We are all depending on emails more than usual to keep in touch, aren’t we? Sorry to hear that Ann’s London broadband is getting rather unreliable though, what with so many people now working from home. I did enjoy those Tom Lehrer songs.
It’s really quite special to stay in contact like this after so many years, isn’t it? Perhaps we should exchange phone numbers too. Sometimes a phone call can be friendlier than a composition. It’s lovely to discover what we’re all doing and how we’re getting on at this troublesome time. Let’s hope the plague year doesn’t finish us all off.
What am I doing?
a. Listening to a lot of music on Radio 3. (It counterbalances the news on Radio 4.)
b. Baking bread, cakes, biscuits, hot cross buns and quiches. (it’s quite therapeutic!)
c. Immersing myself in medieval art from images in galleries and museums, via Pinterest.
d. Making several digital books of illuminated manuscripts (see one attached, 12 pages only)
