really pleased that when she went to work she had always parked in the car park in Leicester where subsequently the body of Richard III was found. And Miss Grimsey/Mrs Scales is incredible - so youthful and active and full of fun.

Oh goodness, I just sent an email and forgot to mention in the deaths across the year group - Ann Strauss, my dear friend whom I visited in Melbourne a few months before she died. I must just have blocked it out.
On a brighter note, I saw you, Maggie, during that visit, didn’t I, and you told me that Molly Watts, also our year and whom I knew as she was a neighbour, had become an astrologer and tarot reader just north of Sydney. She has an amazing web site if anyone remembers her - mollytalbot.com The tributes to her from clients made me see astrology in a new light.

Thanks for all the information about those I had lost contact with.
Sadly, Ann Strauss died here in Melbourne a couple of years ago, an incredibly brave lady. I
agree that Susan Sheers was very talented. To digress a bit here I saw Stephanie Beecham perform in Melbourne. Molly Watts and I bumped into each other on a Melbourne tram in 1971 and Liz Jackson lived in Melbourne in the 70s.
Great to hear about Miss Grimsey!!

I am so enjoying reading all your emails. Judy, Kingsley Amis and his wife Elizabeth Jane Howard did indeed live on Hadley Common in a beautiful house called Gladsmuir. They renamed the house Lemmons which had been its earlier name. In the early seventies the heavy ceiling of the main drawing room came down while Mr and Mrs Amis were reading by the fireside, missing them by inches. We moved into Strathyre in 1976 and they were still living there with relatives and artists.
As you probably know I stayed down from 111B into 111F which at the time was pretty traumatic I have to say, but my goodness how pleased I am that I ended up with you lot! Miss Balaam told my mother that the trouble with Margaret is she likes the jam but not the bread. I had been at a Convent in East Finchley which was quite strict and when I got to QE I thought I was in heaven because of all the sport. Mother Superior told my mother we love Margaret dearly but she is so naughty.
I had lost touch with Val Townsend when we all went our different ways but I saw the birth announcement of dear Daniel in the Barnet Press born the same day as my third daughter Katy. The announcements were next to each other because M for Mulder came immediately before P for Peart. I got in touch with Val and the rest is History as they say.

Hi everyone on this lovely May day!
Judy - I lived next door to Hank Marvin in Totteridge. I can't remember now when they moved in but I do remember him rescuing a child from the pond in their garden and apparently the London Evening News contacted my mother to find out what had happened - not sure if after all these years what she said to them.
I can't remember ever seeing Cliff next door although he did live in Totteridge too. I think I remember one of the other Shadows (name forgotten but not Bruce Welch(?)) in their back
