garden. However, the highlight was when we had all been out and Rod had been the driver and on arrival home we found a blue Maserati parked in front of my parents' drive and Rod then had to go to Hank's so we could pull in only to find the blue car was owned by Paul Beatle who came out with his girlfriend at the time Jane Asher. My sister who was Beatle mad went rushing out and I will give Paul M his due he waited for her to come indoors to get a piece of paper and gave her an autograph. I am sure she still has it - might even be thinking of putting it on Flog It!
We also had Roger Moore living in the road at the bottom of Priory Close - not sure if he had moved on from Dorothy Squire at that point, and also John Slater who is often seen in the black and white war movies lived on Barnet Lane.
We went back to the house in Priory Close in about 2012, it having been sold in 1976 when my mother moved after Dad died. It was somewhat changed inside and was owned by a family called Conn who worked for a Far Eastern bank -? Barings. I think.
I think I made a guest towel in IIIF needlework with Miss Dixon. It lasted for years! it had brown and orange colours on Binca material.
My recollection of being in UIVR is also of hearing of Buddy Holly's death (yes not as high brow as some memories) and also of Frances Howard looking out the window at some boys walking down the High Street. Miss Rhodes (Mrs Shaw) left to move to Leicester which
in those days I thought was miles away in another part of the world. Little was I to know that Leicester and its surrounding area would become so well known to us - sons both going to uni there, grandson being born there and now we own a house there! North London
seemed to be the hub of my existence in those days!

In another triumph of foolhardiness over experience I have (I hope) put Val’s and my walking masterpiece into a format which I’m hoping you’ll be able to see if you want to.
I have just finished uploading the book itself to Mimeo who will send Val and me an actual book. If we ever meet up with each other (20121?????) one of us will bring the book !
I’ve just had a look and I’m afraid both versions will have to go into Dropbox users.
For the PowerPoint version you’ll need Microsoft Office which comes as a package including Word, Outlook Express, Excel and PowerPoint. If you have Word I would think you have the whole package. In the MENU BAR at the very top, go to SLIDESHOW and in the Dropdown menu ‘Play from the start'. You move on by using the forward arrow on your keyboard and the pages will curl like a book !!!!!!!!!
In the PDF version use the Forward arrow on your keyboard.
If the forward arrows don’t seem to work, try the arrow pointing downwards or the arrow pointing to the right. One or other should work.
In the meantime, many thanks for all the chatty and exceedingly informative emails. We really must find a way to record them all in a continuous format.
Now to the green screen!!!
Cheers from a vulnerable 75-year-old!
