That is amazing Mag.
It is interesting how many of those teachers left in 1955-6, just before we actually arrived in the school - perhaps they heard we were coming and could not stand the strain! Like you there are some names there I do not recognise at all - but perhaps they too had done a bunk before our intake arrived - or else must have taught some obscure subject in one of the nethermost parts of the school.

So many memories - yes news of our arrival probably did encourage an exodus but how many did we frighten off whilst we were there??

You mention Jane Bowler. Jane and I were, in particular, in the same Maths A-level group. Does anyone know what happened to her?
I think I last saw Jane in the autumn of 1963. There was a 'reading week' at university and I came back to New Barnet for a couple of days to see my parents. In the evening Jane kindly came over to have a chat. I think we played a game of mini-billiards - our dining table converted into a simple mini table. I remember this detail so well because, in the middle of the game, my parents came in and told us that they had just heard on the TV news that President Kennedy had been shot. And I think we all remember what we were doing that evening.
I believe while I was still an undergraduate, Jane got married. But I was in the middle of term and did not feel able to take the time out to go to the wedding. In retrospect, a mistake!
I wonder where Jane is now.
