PRONUNCIATION Reduced Forms of Would Have
Would have and would not have are often reduced in conversation. Have is often pronounced like
the word of.

If |had seen her, | would have told you. If I'd seen her, | would of told you.
If you had stayed, Ray would not have left. If you'd stayed, Ray wouldn’t of left.
If it had been cold, we would not have gone. If it'd been cold, we wouldn’t of gone.
In informal conversation, woulda is common.
If you had asked me, | would have helped. If you'd asked me, | woulda helped.
