British Car Day at
Cars & Coffee
Photos by Todd Fontechia & Chip Hanback
You can see some unexpected things at Cars
and Coffee, but nothing was as unexpected
as this very British Bulldog, conveyed on
his own padded cart with water bowls,
chilling under a canopy. It was clear from
his relaxed position that he'd taken these
rides before.
Heat is not the friend of flat- faced dogs.
Owners are very careful about how much
outdoor time bullies are allowed when the
air heats up.
Although the temperatures eventually
climbed to 94 degrees on May 21st, morning
temperatures, hovered around the mid 70s.
This was perfect weather for car people
(and for this pampered pooch, more
closely resembling a British tank like the
Centurion than a traditional sports car) to
enjoy the outing at the AMC parking lot in
Brentwood.
NBCC made a great 3rd Saturday showing
with 20 cars plus 1 Triumph motorcycle on
hand and the usual cheerful conversations.
Below are some of the cars on display in
May with not a "dog" among them. As an
example, take a look at that 1998 plus 8
Morgan owned by Ken Gadios. Sweet.
