Todd found the NBCC the modern way, doing research online to get the
TR6 running. "I made a call, talked to Chip and he invited me to Cars
and Coffee. That's where I met Rick Mathis, Jim Moran, and Len
Melanson, " he explained. "After that you would have thought I would hit
the road, but there was something about those guys, so I signed up to join
and I just kept coming back."

Todd has participated in the club since 2015 and says he likes hosting
Previewiing Some Ideas for 2022 drives, setting up the car show, working on the annual dinner, and just
hanging around with the members at British Cars and Coffee Day on the
third Saturday morning of each month. He also enjoys showing his car to
the "lookers" who pass by to enjoy what he describes as a "fully
                                              roadworthy, rolling restoration" TR6.
"It's all about networking; people like to show off their cars, no doubt

about that. Everyone has a story to tell about a car. At Cars & Coffee, so
            - Hold at least one long many people come up and say they either had a TR6 or knew someone
who had one when they were growing up. I usually ask if they want to sit
                distance, weekend
in the car for a photo. They love that. Sometimes, if I know the people,
getaway drive each year. I'll ask if they want to drive the car. That always puts a smile on their

            - Theme drives (70?s ,80?s, While Todd's wife Karen enjoys going on the club's monthly drives, Todd
Halloween, etc.) says she's not really a car person, and, although his daughter likes to ride
            - More DIY shop classes by in the TR6, she doesn't like to drive it because it has a stick shift. She has
respect for the work her dad has put into it, however, because she did
                our club members to
drive it once in a parking lot, where the look on her face (below) showed
teach others how to how focused she was, afraid she'd crash her dad's car.

            - Start a tool
                borrow/rental program
            - Make it easier for club
                members to network.
                Possibly create an
                optional directory of club
                members with the cars
                they own and contact
                info if they'd like to
                share that.
            - Find a way to put the

                winners on the big
Although Todd has ideas for things he'd like to explore as president, like
                screen as they are

                see which cars win.

of the members to get a great group of people. If you ask for help, you are going to get it.
                their input about what
If we can make it easier for people to connect, make new members feel
they enjoy and what else at home, and continue to add increasing value to the club experience, I'll
they'd like to see the club be happy," he concluded. "I feel that the new, news magazine will be a
do. big help in continuing to build our community by highlighting club
members and providing interesting information about British motoring."
