It was interesting to see his modern, mid-engine MG up close as these cars were not imported to the US
due to emissions restrictions. Made by Rover in England this model is the last made-in-England
example of a beloved British marque and not a bad car by what we saw. It was both a modern and
comfortable little sports car, comparable to a Miata or Toyota MR2.
Barb, Rick Mathis and I sent Neil on his way with some of our club memorabilia and a good stock of
Barb?s chocolate chip cookies, plus a map from a club drive to Tullahoma for him to follow back to
Winchester where he was staying.
We spent some very pleasant hours getting to know Neil and his modern MG.
We're glad he made the trip to meet us and certainly look forward to his next visit.
