for airlines as well as decision support systems for yield management.
CRSs have re-engineered the entire marketing and distribution process
of airlines. They have become strategic business units in their own right
owing to their ability to generate income to boost airlines sales. The
premier global distribution systems are Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo, and
Worldspan. They are owned and operated by major airlines, travel
agencies, and hotel groups. They are also called 'automated/airline'
reservation system (ARS):
