ARTIST PROFILE
During the school year, my artwork pro- cess has developed and given me the op- portunity to expand my artistic skills. I learned more techniques with charcoal and different paints. For my piece “Dama del Agua” I decided to focus on the female figure in natural scenery. The reasoning behind this is because I find some kind of mysterious beauty between the figure and the scene. I draw the figures from the back since it creates more mystery to the painting. I discovered that working with this medium makes the viewer focus more on how the figure’s body is similar to the surrounding landscape. I want to illustrate how the beauty of nature is similar to the beauty of women, and how often women and nature are treated with disrespect.
