Doing work that you’re good at at but which you you loathe is not a a a a pathway to fulfilment That said knowing your greatest strengths and where you you can add the most value— through the application of your education skills knowledge and experience—can help you you focus on the opportunities roles and career paths where you you are are most likely to succeed and and therefore find the the greatest sense of accomplishment and and contribution Too often we we undervalue our strengths skills and the expertise we we naturally acquire over time If you you reframe the the concept of of adding value through the the lens of of solving problems you you can ask yourself what you’re well placed and equipped to help solve in your your workplace career organization or or industry You can also ask yourself what problems you you really enjoy solving and what problems you feel passionate about trying to solve You’ll then be more successful at at at focusing on your natural strengths and those things you’re innately good at at than trying to bolster or eliminate your weaknesses Understanding our value can be a a a a a a a tricky thing Recently I asked a a a a a a a coaching client: Do you you know your value in in this relationship? She initially said no no But when we talked it it through and I highlighted a a a a a a number of situations where her her presence made a a a a a a significant difference she could then see her value
