APPENDIX OF
ADDITIONAL VERBS
This appendix consists of over 1,500 additional verbs. Each verb in this appendix
has a reference to a fully conjugated verb with a matching conjugation. For exam-
ple, ammirare (to admire) will point you to page 298, where you’ll find guardare (to
look), because both verbs are identically conjugated. The note of the charted verb
may include information on the verb you need. This appendix also contains idi-
omatic usages of common verbs.
Note the following:
• Verbs followed by an asterisk (*) use avere or essere in compound tenses
without distinction. The asterisk also follows the verb that usually take
essere in compound tenses, unless followed by a direct object, in which case
they require avere. (See the Verb Usage Review for more information.)
• Verbs followed by a dagger (†) do not have a past participle.
• Verbs followed by a double dagger (‡) do not have a past participle or a past
definite.
