PREPOSITIONS
Some verbs do not require a preposition; they are followed immediately by an
infinitive. You can find a list of these verbs in the Verb Usage Review.
The following verbs require the preposition a before the infinitive. In English,
either the –ing form (gerund) or the infinitive can be used— for example, Proviamo
a entrare (“Let’s try getting in” or “Let’s try to get in”).
