Partnership with Northam Zondereinde to upgrade infrastructure in Lusikisiki
27 November 2019 was a ‘small step for man, and a giant leap for the children of Lusikisiki’ when a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Eastern Cape Department of Education (ECDoE) and Northam Zondereinde to upgrade schools in that area.
“We are very appreciative of this initiative and we have committed ourselves to support Northam Zondereinde to realise their objectives. Our of cials are available to work in close partnership with the Northam Zondereinde team to nalise completion of these projects by the envisaged target date of 31 December 2020”, said Themba Kojana, Superintendent General.
A number of schools were assessed in an effort to identify projects that resonated with the ideals of the organisation. Northam Zondereinde made a commitment to focus on

three schools and will be providing, Classrooms, Grade R facilities, sanitation facilities, and boreholes. The following schools, located in the OR Tambo Coastal district, will bene t through this partnership:
• Sichwe Junior Secondary School
• Emnyezweni Junior Secondary School • Mbotyi Junior Secondary School
Situated in Limpopo province, Zondereinde is part of Northam Platinum Limited who is a producer of platinum group metals primarily used in the motor-manufacturing and jewellery industries.
This is partnership is a prime example of how we can grow the education sector in South Africa, by working together.
