Ms Lindiwe Mboniswa Deputy Chief Education Specialist
Ms Lindiwe Mboniswa is one of ve Deputy Chief Education Specialists (DCES) who is responsible for supporting districts with regard to infrastructure issues in the 12 education regions. She started her journey with the Department just over two years ago, in October 2016 and is responsible for the Chris Hani district, which incorporates the regions of Engcobo and Co mvaba in the east; and Cradock, Queenstown and Lady Frere in the West.
DCES’s are appointed to assist the infrastructure technical team with accurate identi cation of speci c educational needs and are therefore skilled, quali ed and experienced in this area. Lindiwe says, “My experience and skills are in teaching at school and as a Senior Education Specialist at District level.
Some of my day to day responsibilities include making education speci c inputs to the technical team about project briefs and business cases, assisting implementing agents in determining furniture needs for new projects and newly built schools, attending to district requests; and responding to questions from Principals and District Directors, and assisting districts in their prioritisation of school infrastructure.”
Lindiwe lives by the motto “Be the change that you want to see in the world”. She is of the view that transparency is crucial so that people are aware of various issues taking place in the infrastructure environment. “Communication is equally important as it promotes interpersonal relations and builds trust. Effective communication is always the key to overcome any challenge in the workplace. Lastly, loyalty and honesty are two additional ingredients that make for long-lasting relationships”, says Lindiwe.
