Technology
DURATION: 2 years or 4 semesters
This programme is designed to provide students with an overall
picture of the individual system hardware, its integration into a
workable microcomputer system, and the principles and problems
involved in interfacing with such a system. It allows the student to
design, document and test software in order to produce the most
effective control of the hardware system.
The course is also designed to equip students with a sound
knowledge of both digital and analogue electronics. Emphasis is
placed on both practice and theory. The designing, construction and
testing of various electronic circuits will provide opportunities for
students to be creative as well as to apply knowledge to solve
practical problems.
Persons completing this programme may seek employment in
careers as: Computer Support Specialists, Help Desk Technicians,
Technical Support Specialists and Microcomputer System
Technicians.
