ATTENDANCE
Rationale:
Students who miss a great deal of time are certain to encounter difficulty in keeping up with their school work. In order for each student to achieve his/her maximum potential, regular
attendance is essential. Expected Behaviour:
• Regular attendance is required in all classes
• A student's parent or guardian must email the school at reception@tarbiyah.ca to inform
when his/her child is absent.
• Students who need to be excused during the school day must check out at the office.
• It is the student's responsibility to make up all work missed by his/her absences and to
ascertain what has been assigned by the way of projects, tests, homework, etc.
Consequences:
On some occasions, absences are unavoidable. However, if absenteeism appears to be a problem, they will be investigated by the teacher or administration. Students' parents/guardians will be consulted and students will be required to make up work that is missed. Repeated and unexcused absences will lead to further consequences at the principal’s discretion.
