Leave of Absence
Employees who are working a minimum of 30 hours per
week and are eligible for Dragados benefits have access
to Paid and Unpaid Leave of Absence Protection.*
* Eligibility requirements will vary by federal and state programs.
Examples of Paid and Unpaid Leave include the following:
Paid
• Short Term Disability - up to 26 weeks
• CA, MA, NJ, NY, RI Short-Term Disability – time varies*
• Long Term Disability – after 26 weeks of STD
• CA, MA, NJ, NY, RI Paid Family Leave – time varies, additional state laws in development*
   * Eligibility requirements will vary by federal and state programs.
Unpaid
• Family Medical Leave (FMLA) – up to 12 weeks*
• State Unpaid Leave – time varies*
• USERRA (Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 )*

In order to use your Leave of Absence benefits
• You must formally request leave through on-site Human Resources and the Benefits Team
• For work planning purposes, alert your manager and on-site Human Resources of your potential need for leave
Contact on-site Human Resources and the Benefits Team to request a leave ahead of time, or as soon as possible
• Once you report a leave, you will receive applicable leave information via email
• If your leave is for your own serious health condition, you will also need to contact Reliance Standard/Matrix to initiate a Short Term Disability claim
• If you work in a state with paid disability and/or family leave requirements, you may need to work directly with your state to receive full benefits. Reliance Standard/Matrix can advise if this applies to your leave.
