Short and Long-Term Disability

Disability insurance provides income if you become disabled due to an injury or illness. Burke provides full-time employees with short and long-term disability income benefits. In accordance with the law, both the employer and the employee are required to contribute towards their New York State short-term disability benefit. Burke will continue to pay the full cost of long-term disability coverage in 2022. You will not be eligible to receive disability benefits if you are receiving workers compensation benefits.

challenge if you become disabled. Your options may
be limited to personal savings, spousal income, and
possibly Social Security. Disability insurance provides $25 protection for your most valuable asset — your ability 3/6 to earn an income. Burke is providing their employees
the ability to purchase additional Short-Term Disability
insurance. You will be responsible for paying the full
cost through payroll deductions. This is a great way to
enhance your income due to an unexpected disability.
