The professionalization of teachers is the provision of professional education and specialized training
within a specified period for the preparation of individuals who intend to develop and nurture young ones
into responsible and productive citizens. The professionalization of teachers by educational leaders will
stimulate the development of mental, physical and emotional powers of students. Such educated citizens
would be sensitive and equipped with peaceful co-existence, environmental management and democratic
process. It is therefore undisputable that the heartbeat of manpower development and training for prudent
use and sustenance of resources in societal development lie in teachers' professionalization.

In a bid to use education as a tool for societal development, educational leaders have to ensure the
education system is responsive to the social and economic needs of the society and provide the type of
human resources needed in the industrial and economic sector. This simply means students should not be
taught concepts in abstraction and what should be taught are concepts that would enable them make a
living in a society. This will also raise the level of employability of its graduates and also satisfy their needs
and aspirations. Education should be used by educational leaders to equip one with skills, knowledge and
attitudes required for making a living. Hence, in the process of creating or redefining curriculum and in
their methods of teaching, educational leaders should aim to achieve the following:

•Develop in every child a scientific attitude so as to be able to play his role in a technologically
               developing society
•Prepare every child to adapt easily to a rapidly changing society
•Develop every child physically, emotionally and intellectually.

In conclusion, the function of education as a tool for education is aptly
captured by those who have emphasized that education is power. Education
shares a symbiotic relationship with the society and it is germane to the
development of every society. Educational leaders must always remember
that education is a not only the process of acquiring knowledge, it also
involves acquiring ideas that shape and condition man's attitudes, actions and
achievements. It is a process of developing the child's contributions in social
reforms; it is the art of utilizing knowledge for a complete living.

                                                     MY BEST SPORT

My best sport is football. Football is an interesting sport. It can be played by one player
            or in a team.

A football team is made up of ten players and a goalkeeper. Football game can be played
in the football field or at home. Football can be played as a hobby, a career or as a form
            of exercise.

Football can be played by men or women locally and internationally. I like football
because it is a very fun game that keeps you fit and brings people together.
