Founded in 1992, New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program has grown into the nation’s largest racehorse adoption organization, having rehomed over 7,000 horses since its inception. Our program
is deeply committed to placing as many horses as possible into qualified, loving homes. The staff at each of our eight locations works diligently to care for the nearly 150 horses in our care on any given day.
We believe wholeheartedly that a horse retiring from the track has so much left to offer, if only given a chance. Our program focuses on adoption instead of retirement, believing that each horse deserves an individual home and purpose.
New Vocations is honored to be a part of The Right Horse Initiative, a collective of equine industry and welfare professionals and advocates who are working together to improve the lives of horses in transition. This organization has one goal: To massively increase horse adoption in the United States.
As a partner in this Initiative, we are proud to support a national movement seeking to reframe the conversation about equine adoption; we are grateful to those who are working together to improve the lives of horses in transition and for their dialogue of kindness and respect.
