 The "Pujarini", and all it's prolific variations constitute the most popular, iconic and prevalent motifs among Jamini's many motifs. Jamini painted these Pujarinis in groups, pairs and singles; in variations of different colors. The motif basically represents a Bengali woman holding a plate of ritual religious offering (Prasad).
This particular work is sourced directly from Jamini Roy's family. It was obtained directly from the collection of Debabrata Roy, the grandson of Jamini Roy, and is accompanied by a certification and authentocation by him.
