Page 64 - Racing Toward Judgement
P. 64
Human Warehouses
There are now thirteen thousand commercial day-
care centers profiting from working mothers. Many are
just human warehouses where children are simply
stored without the love and attention of a caring father
or mother A few day-care centers are excellent and
necessary. But, children, for too many parents, have
become a burden. They feel "tied down" by kids.
How can God hold off judging a nation that allows so
many of its children to be neglected, abandoned, abused,
and made to feel unwanted? No wonder the Bible warns
the day will come when a man's worst enemy will be they
of his own house. These unwanted, abused children will
soon rise up into an army of bitter youth ready to settle the
account through betrayal.
For death has crept in through your windows
into your homes. He has killed off the flower of
your youth. Children no longer play in the streets;
the young men gather no more in the squares.
(Jeremiah 9:21 LB)
The Big I and the Little You
1e motto of many modern Americans is "A big I and
a little you." And that is nothing but stinking pride. It has
become a stench in God's nostrils. Everyone appears to
be looking out for self The attitude is "get all you can,
while you can. If anyone gets hurt, it's his own fault."
A strong society is based on Christ's concept that we
are all servants, called to humbly assist our brothers and
sisters. Too many Americans have scuttled that concept.
Today, it is "I am my own person, make room—get out
of my way—I know my rights."
That is the flash point of judgment!
When pride cometh, then cometh shame .
the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy
(Proverbs 11:2,3
them. KJV)
