ISTANBUL to TEL AVIV (with letters in French), with postmarks 21-8-1948, 9-12-1948 and 28-10-1949; last cv with 1-11-1949 TLV arr pmk. Turkey and Israel formalized
relations in March 1949; outbound mail to Turkey before then is known, and those pieces arrived via Athens - probably a similar route for the arrival of the first two covers
here. All 4 covers roughly opened but not affecting the marks and postmarks.

piece missing on back but does not detract from the cv. Est. value $50++

manuscript scratched off), franked 55pr at the SU-2 rate (30pr letter + 25pr reg fee) using 5x 10pr DI + 5pr (Ba2/3); in HAIFA transit same day - but as arrived in AGEN,
France 5-4-1949 (1 week transit), actually transmitted by air mail, a 5pr difference in postage (per FA-2 airmail rate). Est value $50++
