Palestine/Israel(?): "Bnei Metzada" ('Sons of Massada) level badge of the Shomer HaTzair ('Young Guard') Zionist-Socialist youth movement, circa. 1930s-40s; not
maker-marked; size: 19.5 x 23mm; weight:1.85g. The badge depicts 3 date trees and a tent, with the name "Bnei Metzada" in Hebrew below. This was issued at the
completion of a young Guard members second stage (of seven) in the ranks of the movement. Nicely manufactured - here with 2 prong reverse (and not the more
common safety-pin back), suggesting an early period of use; not maker-marked, hence probably from Palestine/Israel.
Lot #/Los-Nr.: a30770 :רפסמ טול Open.Bid/Anf.Geb. : $50 : יתלחתה ריחמ
Poland(?): emblem pin of the "Dror" Zionist-Socialist youth movement, circa. 1920s-30s; not maker-marked; size: 17 x 56mm; weight: 2.7g. The pin appears to be
bronze, with red finish, and depicts the movement's emblem, with the word "Dror" in Hebrew above (written in a style akin to the estimated date of the pin). Dror was
founded in Russia, in 1917, but moved its base of operations to Poland in the wake of the Russian Revolution, and until a branch was established in Israel in 2006, this was
a diaspora youth movement whose aim was to train youths to settle in Israel and enable them to come.
