The Last Man from Treblinka
Shmuel Villenberg is one of the thirty seven people who are able to escape
from Treblinka. He dies a week ago when he’s ninety three years old. He’s
born in Poland and in nineteen forty two (they) send him to Treblinka. He
makes Aliyah to Israel in [the year of] nineteen fifty. After he retires he
starts to paint and make art. He thinks it’s important to remember the
holocaust, and so in (his) last years he wants to build along with his wife
and daughter a visitor center in Treblinka.
