From a Stand to a Bar
People from all over Israel come to the Mahne Yehuda market in
Jerusalem to eat at the restaurants and bars. The problem is that there are
so many restaurants that there aren’t many people who come to buy at the
fruit and vegetable stands. Over the last two years the number of
restaurants and bars goes up from twenty to forty five, more than double.
Everyone agrees that this is a very high number, and that if (they) want to
preserve the market as a tourist attraction, (they) have to stop opening
more recreational places.
