Driving Right
After years in which the police ignored the situation, today they
started to give out tickets to cyclists in Tel Aviv who ride on the
sidewalk. The cyclists are very angry at the decision because their
option of riding on the road is very dangerous. Pedestrians are
actually hoping that this will decrease the number of people who
get hurt by cyclists. Most cyclists only got a warning in the
meantime, but even the police know that in places where there are
no special bicycle trails it would be very hard to maintain order.
