In Hebrew, the numbers have different masculine and feminine forms. Most
people in Israel do not pay particular attention to the use of gender with regard
to numbers, and only use the feminine form.
Example:
Feminine Masculine
one girl ?ַי ְׁל ָׁדה ַא ַחת? one boy ?ֶי ֶלד ֶא ָׁחד?
two girls ?ְׁש ֵתי ְׁי ָׁלדֹות? two boys ?ְׁש ֵני ְׁי ָׁל ִדים?
five women ?ָׁח ֵמש ָׁנ ִשים? five men ?ֲח ִמ ָׁשה ֲא ָׁנ ִשים?
