Sea-Land Game | ה ָש ָּבַי-םָי ק ַ ח ְש ִמ
Instructions for the teacher:
Write on the board the verse: "השביב םיה ךותב וכלה לארשי ינבו", and
explain it; explain to the students that 'םי' means sea, and 'השבי'
means land.
How to play?
Divide the class into 3-4 groups.
Mark on the floor (with duct tape) 3-4 lines (one line for each
group). The line marks the border between sea and land: to the
right of the line-“sea”, to the left of the line-“land”.
Each group stands in line (queue), to the right of the line -
meaning, in the “sea”.
The game itself: each time, the teacher says 'וא ,'השבי' ,'םי
השבמי''. When the teacher says 'םי', the entire group has to jump
to 'םי', to the territory that is to the right of the line. When the
teacher says 'השבי', the entire group has to jump to 'השבי', to the
territory that is to the left of the line. When the teacher says
'השבמי', the entire group has to stand with one foot on 'םי', and
the other foot on 'השבי' [The teacher should try and make it hard
for the students; for example, to say time after time after time
'םי' and then suddenly changing it to 'השבי' and etc.]. When one
of the students gets mixed-up (for example, jumps to 'םי' when
the teacher says 'השבי'), he is out of the game.
The winning group is the one as the highest number of
participants after two minutes of playing.
Of course, the game can be played more than once.
