The Man with the Hair
Once, a long time ago, I saw a little man
With long hair that covers half of Ramat Gan.
When he crosses the street the buses stop
And then one can see that first a little man crosses
And then the hair goes by.
Yes, the man had endless hair
It took him three days to wash it.
Later, on the laundry lines outside,
He hung his washed hair to dry.
Every morning he braided a thousand braids.
And he swept the streets with his hair.
And in the evening when he returned home
He would unbraid his braids and find
Popsicle sticks, rocks and papers
And a kitten that got tangled in his hair.
I saw him when I was a boy
And since then I never saw him again.
Maybe he traveled to a different country
And it could be that he just got a haircut.
