ֵאין ִלי,ֵיש ִלי
In English the expression I have, you have etc. contains a pronoun followed by
the verb "have". In Hebrew this expression is built differently. The verb "to have"
is expressed by," " ֵישand the pronouns: I, you, he etc. are expressed by: , ְלָך,ִלי
לֹוetc.. Similarly for don't, doesn't etc. we use in Hebrew – ֵאין
To ask a question: “Do you have …?”, we just change the intonation to
questioning.

ֵאין ִלי ֵיש ִלי
I don't have ֵאין ְלָך I have ֵיש ְלָך
you don't have (m.) ֵאין ָלְך you have (m.) ֵיש ָלְך
you don't have (f.) ֵאין לֹו you have (f.) ֵיש לֹו
he doesn't have ֵאין ָלה ֵיש ָלּה
she doesn't have ֵאין ָלנּו he has ֵיש ָלנּו
we don't have ֵאין ָל ֶכם she has ֵיש ָל ֶכם
you don't have (pl.) ֵאין ָל ֶהם we have ֵיש ָל ֶהם
