Association of two nouns - SMIKHUT - ‫ְס ִמיכּות‬

This is a structure we saw in the dialogue. Let's summarize the two important
rules that apply to this structure.

When you add a ‫ה‬, it has to come in front of the second
word, because there are two nouns here, and the first one
leans on the second one. Thus, the second noun receives the
definite article, and it is the second one that defines the
situation.

For instance: ‫ֲח ַדר ַה ֵש ָנה‬
‫ ֲח ַדר ֵש ָנה‬becomes

As we already saw with two associated nouns, the specification ‫ ה‬moves

to the second noun.

‫ ֲח ַדר ַה ֵש ָנה‬ ‫ֲח ַדר ֵש ָנה‬

‫ ֵבית ֵס ֶפר‬‫ֵבית ַה ֵס ֶפר‬

When you use the plural form, add a ‫ י‬to the first noun, for
masculine, because the first noun is static one.

For instance:

‫ ֲח ַדר ֵש ָנה‬becomes  ‫ַח ְד ֵרי ֵש ָנה‬

Plural – ‫ַר ִבים‬

‫ ַח ְד ֵרי ֵש ָנה‬ ‫ֲח ַדר ֵש ָנה‬
‫ ָב ֵתי ֵס ֶפר‬ ‫ֵבית ֵס ֶפר‬
