Exercise 7: In pairs translate the dialogue into Hebrew row by row, each
translating his or her part. Then act out the dialogue in front of your classmates.
Mom: Shira, can you help me find a taxi to Netanya? We need a big taxi. We’re six
passengers and we also have suitcases.
Shira: Here, mom! Over there there’s a big taxi to Netanya.

Mom: Excellent! David, kids, Come! We need to get onto the taxi and go.

In the Taxi
Mom: Hello. We want to go to Netanya, please.

Driver: Where to in Netanya?

Mom: To Einstein Street, right by the sea. How much does the trip cost?

Driver: 200 shekels.
Mom: Oh, that’s expensive.
Driver: That’s the price for a big taxi, Ma’am. Do you want to go with me?
Mom: Yes, thank you. Come kids. We’re getting on.

Shira: Mom, how long [how much time] is the trip to Netanya?
Mom: About an hour and a quarter, if there’s no traffic. Driver, is there traffic now?
Driver: I think there isn’t.
