Story: Chocolate and Flowers
Gila: Danny, what's up?
Danny: Not so good.
Gila: Why?
Danny: My girlfriend broke up with me yesterday.
Gila: Oh, that's too bad… why did you (pl.) break up?
Danny: Well, on Sunday she called and said that she feels like we didn't meet each
other since the second president of Israel got elected.
Gila: And is that true? You really didn't meet for so long?
Danny: It's true. We didn’t' meet because I worked every day for many hours. I told
her I could meet in the evening at 19:00.
Gila: But…?
Danny: But I stayed at work until 19:30.
Gila: Why did you stay?
Danny: Because I forgot we had to meet. And when I remembered, it was too late.
Gila: Wow, and what did you do?
Danny: I ran to the store and bought her chocolate and a bouquet of roses. I entered
her house with the presents.
Gila: And what did she say?
Danny: She said that she stayed at home all evening because I told her that I was
coming early. She was sad.
Gila: And the chocolate and the roses? What did she say when she saw them?
Danny: Oh, the chocolate and the roses… a moment before I entered her house I
remembered that….
Gila: You remembered that what?
Danny: I remembered that she is allergic to roses and to chocolate…
Gila: Oh no! That's terrible!
Danny: No, it's not terrible, because after we broke up I stayed alone in the house
with the chocolate… and it was excellent. I think that I want another
girlfriend who is allergic to chocolate.
Gila: Danny, Danny… I understand why she didn't stay your girlfriend.
Danny: Why?
