When I was a child my big brother
traveled to the East. When he returned he
told me about a ton of extraordinary
experiences, experiences that gave him
the feeling that he was being reborn.
I remember not understanding what it
meant to be reborn. What, did he
disappear and was then recreated?
What, did he become a baby again? But I
didn't ask anyone because I was
embarrassed.
After a few months I mustered up the
courage and asked him quietly, how were
you reborn, and he answered me that one
day I would grow up,
travel to the East and behold it myself. He
can't and doesn't want to explain,
because he doesn't want expectation to be
formed [with me] for an experience such
as his.
Each person must go through his own
personal experience.
Today I write to you from the East and I
think he was right. Even though I still
have two out of three months of the trip
remaining,
I already understand why my brother said
this was an experience that a person must
become acquainted with on his own,
because it cannot be explained. I don't
know if I too will be "reborn", but I don't
care, I'm looking for my own personal
experience and not my brother's.
