One the many highlights of the 2022 HSC
results was the selection of Oliver Stephens’
Visual Arts Body of Work, to be exhibited as
part of the Art Express showcase.

The art work, Symbiosis, was created with
graphite on paper, laser cut Perspex and
anodised steel, lighting and sound and it
        highlighted Oliver’s extraordinary talents in
        drawing, sculpture and installation.
The work examines “relationships, whether the
        structural relationship between sculpture and
        drawing, the ephemeral relationship between
projected light and the images it creates, or
        through the conceptual relationship between
buildings and people; their creators, users and
destroyers”. The audience is invited to interact
with the work by shining lights through the
        sculptures, creating layered shadows that
        reflect on to the drawings.
