Having begun production under the aegis of the well-known interna- tional manufacturer Tappan, Peltrum has been creating innovative cookware sets and kitchenettes since 1966. Early on in its history, Peltrum, a business owned and operated by Guatemalans in Guate- mala City, made a splash in the appliance industry by creating gas oven ranges larger than anything the industry had seen at the time. The porcelain does not corrode or leak contaminants into food the way cookware made from other materials can, and because of the porcelain finish, the dishes never lose their visual appeal. This surface also allows for cooking at much higher temperatures, letting food cook evenly while safeguarding all the natural flavors.
Peltrum gives the same attentiveness to durability to its full-sized kitch- en appliances and portable kitchenettes. The company’s kitchenettes and ranges are made from a higher gauge of steel than most man- ufacturers use, making them much stronger and longer-lasting than that of the competition.
