27 This ˛adıth comes from:
Firstly: fiUqbah bin fi◊mir.
Secondly: J+bir bin fiUmair who narrated from An-Nas+√ı in As-Sunan Al Kubr
, in the book Tu˛fatul Ashr+f
(2/404) and Naßbur-R+yah (4/273); A†-‡abr+nı in Al Mufijamul Kabır (2/211)(1785) and Al Mufijamul Ausa† like
that which is in Mujmafiul Ba˛rain (1/120/ب); Abü Nufiaim in A˛
dıth Abü’l Q
sim Al Aßam (pp. 17-18); Ibnu
R+hawaih in Al Musnad like Naßbur-R+yah (4/274) and Al Bazz+r in Al Musnad (2/279-280)(1704); Ibnu Al Athır
in Asadul Gh
bah (1/259); Al Qarr+b in Fa∂lur-Ramı fı Sabılill
h (nos. 4-5); Al Mundhirı is of the opinion that its
isn+d is good in At-Targhıb wa’t-Tarhıb (2/170) and it is pronounced ßa˛ı˛ by Ibnu ˘ajar in Tahdhıbut-Tahdhıb
(2/39) and Al Iß
bah (1/215). Al Haithamı said within Al Majmafi (5/269): “The narrator of this ˛adıth is the
narrator within ∑a˛ı˛ Al Bukh
rı and Muslim, besides fiAbdul-Wahh
b bin Bukht and he is thiq
t (trustworthy)”.
Refer to As-Silsilah Aß-∑a˛ı˛ah no. 315 within this ˛adıth there is an addition: “Except for four matters (the fourth)
is to teach swimming”.
Thirdly: Abü Hurairah narrated by Al ˘+kim in Al Mustadrak (2/95); A†-‡abr+nı in Al Ausa† as in Majmafiuz-
Zaw
√id (5/269) and Majmafiul Ba˛rain (1/120/ب); Al Qarr+b in Fa∂lur-Ramı fı Sabılill
h no. 12. Al ˘+kim said:
“The ˛adıth is ßa˛ı˛ based on Muslim’s terms”.
According to me in its isn+d there is Suwaid bin fiAbdul-fiAzız who has been classified weak by the majority of the
Ahlil ˘adıth and left out by A˛mad. In the isn+d of Al Qarr+b there is fiUmar bin ∑abah bin fiAmr+n who lied in the
name of the Prophet . Refer to Al Majrü˛ın (2/88), Miz
nul Ifitid
l (3/206) and Tahdhıbut-Tahdhıb (7/407).
This ˛adıth is also pronounced ∂afiıf by Abü ˘+tim and Abü Zurfiah Ar-R+zay+n as in Al fiIlal (1/302). Refer to
Naßbur-R
yah (4/274).
Fourthly: Abü Dard+√ narrated by Al Qarr+b in Fa∂lur-Ramı fı Sabılill
h no. 13, and not attributed to As-Suyü†ı in
Al J
mifiuß-∑aghır (5/402 – with explanation). This ˛adıth is ßa˛ı˛. Refer within ∑a˛ı˛ul J
mifi (5498).
Fifthly: With a mursal isn+d from fiAbdull+h bin fiAbdur-Ra˛man bin Abı ˘usain who is narrated by At-Tirmidhı
within Al J
mifi (4/174)(1637).
Sixthly: With a mursal isn+d from J+bir bin Zaid who is narrated by Safiıd bin Manßür in As-Sunan (3/2/208)(2454).
Seventhly: With a Mursal isn+d from Ya˛y+ bin Abü Kathır who is narrated by Safiıd bin Manßür within As-Sunan
(213/207)(2451).
Eightly: With a mursal isn+d from Mak˛ül who is narrated by Al Qarr+b within Fa∂lur-Ramı fı Sabılill
h no. 14. Its
isn+d is ∂afiıf because Safiad bin Hubaib is an unknown person as mentioned in Al Mız
n (2/120) and A˛mad bin
Safiıd Al Hamad+nı, who according to An-Nas+√ı is not strong.
Ninthly: fiUmar bin Kha††+b who is narrated by A†-‡abr+nı in Al Ausa† and also like that found in Al Majmafi
(5/269) and Ibnu ˘ibb+n within Al Majrü˛ın (3/37) and this ˛adıth is pronounced ∂afiıf by Al Mundhir bin Ziyad A†-
‡+√aı and he said: “He messed up the ˛adıth’s isn
d, and he alone narrates the ˛adıth as indeterminate from a well-
known person, and if he narrated the ˛adıth alone, then the ˛adıth cannot be used as ˛ujjah”. Refer to Naßbur-
R
yah (4/274).
