This band rocked! After seeing this group of young
musicians at NAMM in Anaheim, California, I felt compelled
to share their story.
As I was returning from a short lunch break, nearing the North
Stage, I started hearing this profound sound. On the stage
were 4 young musicians performing their hearts out!
Although most of the tunes they played were songs by other
artists, they were not only incredibly tight in their
musicianship, but they presented themselves impressively.
I spoke with one of the performer’s grandfather and he shared
with me that these young musicians’ vision is to encourage
and to inspire everyone, from the young to the young at heart.
Although quite young themselves (their ages range from 15-
18 and they have been playing together since March of 2014),
they performed like seasoned pros. I will say this, they had
everyone's attention and had the captivated crowd
transfixed.
I have always said that I like bands that are new and different
and Minor Strut definitely fits the bill. Their music style
reminded me of an alternative rock and pop rock band with
great energy. What I was told was that the band has been
performing for over 5 years throughout Southern California,
Arizona, and Hawaii. They've played at many clubs including
the Whisky A Go Go, House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, some
county fairs, and of course, NAMM. They've also played at
many local events, charities, and private corporate events.
They are also receiving some major coverage by the media -
- Minor Strut has been featured in three separate segments
on their local TV station and in several newspapers and
online entertainment websites.
Minor Strut’s mission, per their Facebook page, is “to cause
a music Revolution and inspire young and young at heart
through the music of the legends. We are all students of
Rockstars of Tomorrow in Norco, CA, and we are taking what
we've learned to the next level.”
