MH: Thank you all for this opportunity. You guys are on fire! I've seen several videos of yours
and I've been receiving your press releases from O'Donnell Media Group periodically. I’ve been
so looking forward to interviewing The Lonely Ones. Let's start off by introducing yourselves.
Tell me a little about the band and how you all got started.
JT: Hey, there! I'm Jymmy Toland. I play bass for the Lonely Ones. Marty McCoy is on guitar and vocals,
Tommy Johnson on drums, and Jake Earley on guitar and vocals. We got our start in the summer of
2019 after our old band broke up.
MH: The Lonely Ones…what is the back story and who came up with the name?
JT: I believe that Marty actually came up with the name. If I remember correctly, he had the idea for a
band named ‘The Quiet Ones,’ but it was too close to a movie. So, we decided on ‘The Lonely Ones.’
MH: I really love watching your newest video, ‘Getting High’ …pure, solid rock and roll! They
don't make them like that anymore. Tell me a little about the video and what it was like making it.
JT: Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. The video for ‘Getting High’ is really high energy, shaky,
and frenetic. I was kind of inspired by a rap music video I saw, EKT 40, I think. He was sitting pretty still,
but the camera movement was so intense and unpredictable that the video was very, very, high energy.
I wanted to capture that in our video, and I think that collectively we did so.
