The Roadrunner Boston • Boston, MA • July 21, 2022

Thomas Erak, Andrew Forsman, and Jon-Henry Batts are
back on tour as The Fall of Troy. Hailing from Mukilteo,
Washington, the original band consisting of Erak, Forsman,
and Ward was formed in 2002 while still in high school. Ward
departed from the band in 2007 and was replaced by Frank
Erne, who stayed with the band until their 2010 break up.
The Fall of Troy reunited in 2013, releasing a new album
entitled OK, and began touring again with Tim Ward rejoining
the band until 2020. They have released six full-length albums
falling under the categories of mathcore, post-hardcore,
progressive rock, and screamo.
Fans were arriving early at Roadrunner to assure they caught
the full set of The Fall of Troy. Many had been fans for years
and were excited to see them live after the release of their
2020 album Mukiltearth.
As soon as the trio took the stage, the energy was high. The
band opened with Laces Out, Dan! a song inspired by the
1994 movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Taking a break in
between songs, Erak was talking to the crowd and telling the
story about a time he saw the band Weezer in concert. “You
know what? We’re going to go off script. F it! Let’s play some
Weezer!” Erak said with a laugh. He motioned to drummer
Andrew Forsman and Henry-Batts, who has been joining the
band touring as bass guitarist.
