By the mid-2000s, Webster PR was the principal major publicity agency in Nashville to specialize
in television and facilitate major network TV ties for their clients, CMA and ACM Awards, and
across genres to The Today Show, Ellen, Oprah, Good Morning America, along with strong
weekly presentations of his artists on the Fox News Channel. Named one of the most successful
businessmen in Nashville under the age of 40 in 2009 by Nashville Business Journal, Kirt was on
a well-deserved roll with clients in Nashville, Los Angeles, and around the globe.
In fact, it was Kirt who worked tirelessly with Nancy Jones in handling the planning and
production of George Jones’ historic one-hundred star “final show” extravaganza at Bridgestone
Arena in Nashville on November 22, 2013, where a star-studded stage was unveiled, boasting
top names such as Garth Brooks, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Megadeth, and Alan Jackson,
all turning out to pay homage to George Jones’ memory. The concert, aptly dubbed “Playin’
Possum - The Final No Show” was a sold-out triumph!
Kirt ultimately achieved what he told his mom he was going to do…and that was to sign Kenny
Rogers and later, Dolly Parton, representing them 14 years and 11 years, respectively. Upon
Rogers’ announcing his retirement, Kirt was instrumental in combining Rogers and Parton for
the last time, even being named a producer on the show at the Bridgestone Arena event, which
was filmed for a television special. It was truly the pinnacle of Kirt's career. After that, he
decided it was time to take a break to refocus on new goals and challenges.
Kirt has now entered a new chapter in his journey, continuing as a consultant, providing
strategic career direction and helping artists seeking to further their careers. Taking his years of
knowledge and expertise, he created a new website branding -- one that contained a roadmap
of the music industry giving artists a sense of what areas they need to focus on to be successful.
The Webster formula has proven to be a repeated winner. He notes emphatically, "We need to
remember we are in the music business. Music comes first, and then we can focus on digital
marketing, distribution, radio promotion, publicity, and all the pieces that go with it once you
have the music. If you don't have the music, you essentially don't have the foundation to do
anything." He further says, "If you don't believe in yourself, you cannot move forward. If you
believe in yourself like I did when I came to Nashville, you can do anything you put your mind
to."
