Atlanta-based organization OneRace hosted a call-to-action prayer
gathering in Centennial Olympic Park followed by a march to the Capitol
on Juneteenth (June 19th) 2020. Thousands were in attendance and the
co-directors of OneRace said the date was chosen to remember the
historic date while "calling for liberty and justice for all in present times.”
This event was conducted to represent and bring awareness to social
justice and putting an end to racial violence in America.
In addition, OneRace invited the well-recognized group Maverick City
Music to provide worship for this event. Maverick City Music started with
a dream to make space for people that would otherwise live in their own
separate worlds; to be set apart from the contemporary Christian music
scene. It caters to a community of creatives that have been pushed to the
margins of the industry of church music.
