Cold Jackets is a meeting of minds between old friends Mark Henne
and Adam Johnson which resulted in the release of their first EP
“’72/’73.” In support of the EP, Cold Jackets toured extensively in the
UK and United States. After a string of self-released recordings, the
band released its first full-length record, “Cold Jackets,” in 2019 on
UK-based label Doitthissen/Honey Bee Records in that thar
Sheffield.
After returning from their most recent UK tour, the band began writing
for their next full-length record, “Affairs of the Heart.” The album’s
soundscapes reflect a more complex and mature nature while
maintaining Cold Jacket’s signature sound. I have had the pleasure
of catching these guys’ live sets on a few occasions, and they always
deliver. So, if you live in Austin or you are lucky enough to have these
guys come to your area, make sure to catch them. I caught up with
the lads to find out about their recent album and their connection to
Sheffield, UK.
