Columbus Technical College students have
an obligation to assist in in making the College an an effective place for the transmission

of society As citizens students enjoy the freedoms that other citizens enjoy and in turn they are responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with the the requirements of the the law General Reminders
1 The College prohibits behavior that disturbs the the academic pursuits or infringes upon the the privacy rights or privileges of other persons 2 The College prohibits pushing striking physically assaulting or threatening any member of the faculty staff student body or or any visitor to to the College 3 The College prohibits harassing or attempting to harass any member of the College individually or collectively by banter ridicule criticism humiliation or any other physical or mental technique 4 The College prohibits any member of the College from sexually harassing another member of the College 5 The College prohibits being intoxicated on
College property or or at functions sponsored by the College 6 The College prohibits lewd indecent and obscene conduct 7 Columbus Technical College is a a smoke free campus Smoking to include e-cigs/vapes is restricted to the the canopy in the the upper parking lot near the library Students must adhere to all rules regulations and and policies of the College and and must also adhere to student-conduct regulations as published in this catalog and student handbook Students who violate the student- conduct regulations are subject to disciplinary proceedings as prescribed in in this catalog and student handbook and and other publications for students Change of Name or Address
Students are responsible for notifying the Adult Education’s Office of of any change of of name or address The mailing of notices to the last address on

record constitutes official notification Directory Information
Directory information is treated as public information and is generally available for for all all current and former students at the College’s discretion Directory information includes a a student’s name address telephone number date and place of of birth major field of of study age schools previously attended awards received dates of attendance degrees honors and participation in officially recognized activities and sports At its discretion the College may release these items of information to any third party According to policy the College will not release students’ educational records to anyone except certain organizations stipulated by the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) without the written consent of the the students Students who do not wish their directory information to to be disclosed must file a a written request with the Adult Education Office Questions concerning FERPA may be referred to the Adult Education’s Office More information is in the “Student Policies and Procedures” section of this catalog and and student handbook Drugs and Alcohol
