How to Lead a TOPUCU Class:
The goal of the TOPUCU Class isn’t just to provide students with information---its about transformation!
We have found that absolutely nothing is more effective at changing behaviors than a properly-led small
group. That’s where you come in!
In order to become very familiar with the training materials, please watch the Train the Trainer video in
its entirety before the first class. Then use this resource as a refresher by watching each segment prior to
                facilitating the individual lesson.
As a TOPUCU class facilitator you will play a crucial role in the overall success of each class. A facilitator’s
job is to provide leadership and guidance without dominating the conversation. Your role is not to be the
subject matter expert – that is why you use the videos to deliver the TOPUCU content. Your role is,
however, to be very familiar with the TOPUCU materials and assist in the transformational process for the
students. Your primary focus should be to encourage group interaction and draw out the participation of
                the students.
As you lead each TOPUCU Class, please keep in mind:
Your attitude is infectious: Your passion and enthusiasm will spread throughout the class. You are helping
facilitate a massive transformation…get excited, show up ready to serve.
You should grow with your class: As you facilitate, you won’t just watch other people change their lives—
yours will change too! The best way to learn is to facilitate and share with others. If you aren’t growing—
you’re dying. Make it your personal mission to grow with each class you facilitate.
Relationships matter! You should make a concerted effort to introduce yourself to each and every class
member and memorize their names as the class progresses. It is very important the students feel like
they can know, like and trust you. You should also keep up with your class roster. Remain cognizant of
attendance. If anyone misses more than one class you can ask to have someone check in with them to
see if you can do anything to help get them back into class.
Follow the “Golden Rule”: Treat others as you would want to be treated. Showing respect is an absolute
must for a good facilitator. Treat each student with the same dignity and respect you would show a
                friend, coworker or family member.
Join the crusade and embody the 7 principles! TOPUCU is not just another personal development
class…it’s a movement to transform the nation one person at a time.
